Get Thicker, Darker Lashes with Latisse

Do you wish your eyelashes were longer and fuller for a more dramatic appearance? The good news is now they can be with a little help from Latisse®.

With over 30 years of collective experience, Dr. Carmelo Plateroti and our highly trained staff offer state-of-the-art care for all your dermatology and aesthetic needs at Plateroti Dermatology located in Templeton, California. We work as a team with our patients as partners to provide the best results possible. Just one of many examples is our use of Latisse to help you get those thicker, darker lashes you've always wanted.

Eyelashes

Eyelashes go through three phases—the dormant stage (catagen), the shedding phase (telogen), and the growth phase (anagen). Given this process, it takes about three months for the lashes to grow.

Latisse

Although there are ways to try to mimic longer, fuller eyelashes with special lengthening mascaras, lash lifts, and eyelash extensions, none of these actually change the basic eyelashes. That's where Latisse comes in.

The first (and only) prescription treatment available, it is approved by the FDA. Clinical trials found the length of users' lashes increased by 25%, their fullness and thickness improved by 106%, and their lashes became 18% darker.

History

The active ingredient in Latisse (bimatoprost) was originally used in prescription eye drops to treat glaucoma in the early 2000s. During clinical trials, doctors discovered that many of their patients' eyelashes were becoming longer, fuller, and darker. This led to additional testing to prove their suspicion that bimatoprost was behind the change. After researchers made this discovery and verified it, Latisse was created.

Treatment

Treatment is simple and easy. After a consultation at our office, you will apply the medicated solution to the base of your upper eyelashes each night in the comfort of your own home. Remove your makeup first, and thoroughly clean your upper eyelids. If you wear contact lenses, you should take them out before application, and wait at least 15 minutes before putting them back in.

Results

You should apply Latisse every night for 16 weeks. Typically lashes begin to look fuller and darker after about four weeks with full results occurring at the end of the four-month period.

It's important to note that even though beauty aisles have many products that claim to result in more luscious eyelashes, none of those products contain Latisse's FDA-approved ingredient. These over-the-counter versions have not been tested, so their safety and effectiveness are unknown.
